11/20/03 New Orleans, Little Rock
Originally I had composed a post giving, what I thought was a good description of the show and the drive from New Orleans to Little Rock, but after Ian's proof reading I decided to go easy on him, It seems that I have a penchant for demonizing our beloved Ian, so as a correction, any post that it seems that I am assaulting his character or just having fun with the idea of having a benevolent dictator, is a joke, it is intended to make me laugh, I don't type these things out to improve anyone's popularity, I type them to have fun, or should I say, "these are the inner workings of my head, they do not express the opinion of Ian Moore, or me for that matter", remember folks, this is for fun, if it ceases to be fun, it will cease to exist. So with that said, here is the new account of that last few days....
After sleeping in a wonderful hotel, we awoke to find birds chirping the melody of Carry on, (available on Ian's first record, or through grammatical error I could have meant carrion) as we gathered our belongings and hopped in our wonderful van, oh, blessed be its fenders, all straight and stylish, much like our fearless leader, we headed for New Orleans. upon arrival we sound check and proceeded to play a luscious set, peppered with moments of greatness, after which we happily sold the last of our Dvds to fans hungry for more excitement, no matter what the Austin chronicle says, (they were quoted saying the dvd was "boring and egotistical"). We then got back into the van to drive a little ways, but Ian was sleeping so soundly that, instead of waking him and disturbing his much needed slumber I opted to drive all the way to Little Rock, (452 miles=7.5 hrs).
Little Rock was fun, we played Juanita's, to a really nice crowd, Bryan Sullivan was our lovely merch person for the evening, and he sold with an amount of bravado reserved for only the strongest of men, (attempting to make up for any possible merch girl comments). A big shout out to Shelly and April, and Bryan's brother, (who's name I have forgotten, but I know his last name is Sullivan).
Some interesting things I have learned in the past few days..
In Japanese, the Anka (Ahn-Ka) means red bean paste, but the word Unka (Ahn-Ka) means Feces.
Everyone should have a cell trinket hanging from their Antennae.
Steve Harvell Rocks.
