I woke up this morning with a headache, I hate headaches, I stopped drinking and I still get headaches, that is just not right, but off we go to San Marcos, Ian's phone wouldn't stop beeping for lack of charge, I find it odd that something that is running out of juice, beeps, wouldn't you think that it could conserve the last of its power and stop wasting it beeping, anyway we stopped in Katy at an AT&T store and Ian purchased a new, but not so new fangled phone, it couldn't take pictures, or surf the web or vibrate or any thing, much like my circa 1992 Motorola startac phone that happens to be the same model that Michael Douglas used in Traffic, when I saw my phone in the movie I almost screamed "that's my phone", I did end up screaming "That's a Brian Eno song" at the end of the film. Cell phones are funny, without them we couldn't stay in touch with anyone, I don't actually spend much time on mine, but I did recently acquire a handsfree headset that makes me answer my phone with "Hello, Tech Support", it's not one of those fancy earbud, looks like your talking to yourself kind of things, its more like 70's helicopter pilot headset, but the reason I permit myself to look like I am about to park the van on the moon is that it seems to be the only headset out there that doesn't sound like I am talking into a toilet, besides function before fashion.

We played the San Marcos River Pub, it is always fun to play there, you play outdoors early, and kids can run around and scream while you play, I find it OK when kids scream and yell, I think I just have a problem when adults do it, nothing is stranger than some guy screaming to his buddy about how much he likes the song, during the song, how about listen to the song to find out if you actually like the song, or just enjoyed the conversation you had about NASCAR when you first heard it. It's not like that happened at tonight's show I just thought of how ridiculous it seems that kids are generally a lot better behaved than most club going adults, I guess you go to bars to get boozed and hang out with friends, music is something that makes you talk louder, but like I said, tonight had a great crowd, I love playing outdoors, except for bugs, we once played Corpus Christi during a mosquito convention or something, and it was really hard to concentrate on anything while visions of blood sucking insects are bouncing around your head, and every movement of air on your skin makes you think that there is a thousand bugs on you, not exactly conducive to making music, unless you time the swatting to the beat so you seem as if it were planned that way, and your not a weenie paranoid about tiny insects. Once again, its not as if that happened tonight, but some bugs did make a couple of appearances throughout the set.

We are off to the studio again tomorrow, and then to Little Rock on Wednesday, I will try to come up with something interesting to say before then, but I doubt it.
